Dr Paul Stevenson is a skin-specialised GP, trained in Queensland. He welcomes all new patients for skin cancer checks and general dermatology conditions (including acne, rashes, hair loss and nail conditions).
Dr Stevenson is passionate about providing the highest quality patient-centred care in skin disease. He recognises the importance of taking time to explain diagnosis and treatment, using language that you as the patient understand.
Dr Stevenson believes that patients should be in control of their health decisions. He prefers to empower patients by explaining evidence-based treatment options and allowing patients to choose treatments that suits their individual circumstances
Dr Stevenson completed his hospital residency at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, followed by a 12-month appointment as a Senior House Officer in the department of Dermatology. He then went on to complete specialist training in general practice, which included 6-months extended skills training in skin cancer surgery. He has authored several articles in leading medical journals on the topics of skin disease.
A referral is not necessary to see Dr Stevenson, but a referral from your regular GP is encouraged, especially if you have a complex medical history. This provides information that may be relevant to treating your condition and allows us to better communicate back to your regular GP.
