Dr Lauren Young

Dr Lauren Young is a specialist dermatologist meaning a Fellow member of the Australasian College of Dermatologists (ACD). Dr Young also holds Fellowships in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Advanced Cutaneous Surgery and Laser ACD accredited.

Having grown up in Brisbane, Dr Young moved to Melbourne to study medicine at Monash University. She went on to complete her specialty training in dermatology in 2014, and received the travelling fellowship award for the most meritorious performance in the ACD’s national specialist exams. Dr Young used this opportunity to visit dermatology units in major hospitals in the USA and Canada, to further her expertise in medical and paediatric dermatology.

Dr Young subsequently undertook a fellowship in skin cancer management and Mohs Micrographic Surgery, and worked as a specialist dermatologist for several years at the Alfred Hospital and in private practice in Melbourne.

Having returned home to Brisbane in 2018, Dr Young established practice at Q Dermatology. In addition to private practice, Dr Young remains engaged in teaching dermatology trainees, preparing for their specialty examinations, and also mentors trainees in her surgical sessions at the Mater Public Hospital.

Dr Young treats all dermatological concerns, both medical and surgical, and stays up to date with regular attendance at international conferences, particularly focused on therapeutic advances.

Dr Young is passionate about delivering personalised, expert care to her patients.
