Dr Lauren Young is a specialist dermatologist, and member of the Australasian College of Dermatologists (ACD).

Having grown up in Brisbane, Lauren moved to Melbourne to study medicine at Monash University. She went on to complete her specialty training in dermatology in 2014, and received the travelling fellowship award for the most meritorious performance in the ACD’s national specialist exams. Lauren used this opportunity to visit dermatology units in major hospitals in the USA and Canada, to further her expertise in medical and paediatric dermatology.

Lauren subsequently undertook a fellowship in skin cancer management and Mohs Micrographic Surgery, and worked as a specialist dermatologist for several years at the Alfred Hospital and in private practice in Melbourne.

Having returned home to Brisbane in 2018, Lauren has now established practice at Q Dermatology. In addition to private practice, Lauren remains engaged in teaching dermatology trainees, preparing for their specialty examinations. Lauren stays up to date with both foundational science and emerging dermatological innovations. She attends national and international specialty conferences, and publishes in peer-reviewed scientific journals.

Lauren is passionate about delivering personalised, expert care to her patients and finds the human narrative the fundamental part of medical practice. Her particular expertise is in skin cancer, ensuring its early detection and gold-standard management. Lauren is one of few dermatologists who is sub-specialised in Mohs Micrographic Surgery for skin cancers.
